Last March 23 to March 26, ACI Philippines and Thomson Reuters jointly organized a series of Foreign Exchange Seminars. The resource speaker was Mr. Alan Tan, Client Training Manager for South East Asia, Thomson Reuters. Mr. Tan is based in Singapore and was a Treasury specialist from several major banks in Singapore before joining Thomson Reuters.

In this Foreign Exchange Seminar series, the speaker coached the participants from trading mechanics of the market including ethics   and best market practices. This was followed by technical analysis including a workshop on Elliott Wave and Fibonacci analysis.

It has been some time since ACI Philippines had such a comprehensive course in Foreign Exchange for the market. The participants included front line sales and traders as well as coverage and remittance staff from some banks. One participant, Anne Catherine Hernandez, a bond dealer from BPI who attended 3 out of the 4 day course had this to say, "The training gave a good overview of the FX market and the technical analysis workshop was comprehensive covering the important indicators.
The hands-on and practice sessions on the Reuters 3000 desktop were effective in reinforcing understanding. The trainer was approachable and accommodating. He was very knowledgeable about the topics and resented practical applications which are very helpful to traders."
